Andy, who has worked on major developments across Yorkshire – most recently the Springfields development in Highburton, near Huddersfield – has made a habit of picking up awards for excellence. Before this year, he had previously won two NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards and been Highly Commended in the NHBC Health and Safety Awards.
That success has certainly continued into this year. First, Andy, who has been with Redrow for over two years, earned a NHBC Pride in the Job Quality award 2018, with judges impressed with his dynamic work at Springfields.
Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. Following 12 months of rigorous judging, and more than 16,000 site managers competing for the awards, these first round winners, including Andy, excelled and will now go on to compete for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Winner titles.
A delighted Andy said: “To win a NHBC Pride in the Job Award is superb recognition and I feel really honoured. It’s a reflection too of the fantastic, dedicated team I work with and Redrow’s commitment to consistently strive for excellence.”
Andy, who lives in Halifax, has been invited to attend the regional award ceremony held in the autumn to celebrate his achievement with his peers, as well as to go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Award.

Hot on the heels of this prize, Andy has now won the ‘Highly Commended’ accolade at the NHBC’s annual Health and Safety Awards 2018 – the only health and safety awards ceremony exclusively for the construction industry that recognises site managers who prioritise the health and wellbeing of their teams.
“The recognition is very much a team effort and requires a full-time ‘culture’ on site. Ensuring the highest safety standards at all times is embraced by Redrow from the very top; all the systems are in place and it’s then down to me and my team to constantly and rigorously enforce them at ground level,” Andy added.
Wayne Morris, construction director for Redrow’s Wakefield-based Yorkshire division, is full of praise for Andy and the team around him.
“To see a member of the ‘Redrow family’ win not one but two incredibly sought-after awards is without doubt a source of pride for the organisation and Andy and his team, who have been unwavering in their commitment to delivering high-quality homes with immeasurable community benefits,” he said.
