New northern independent publishing house ZunTold has locked down its second publication, Jiddy Vardy by West Yorkshire’s Ruth Estevez.
Launching 21st June 2018, Jiddy Vardy is a stellar title; a coming-of-age novel for young adults, in the twelve to eighteen-year-old bracket. Fast-paced and dramatic, the Brontë-esque title is set in the Robin Hood’s Bay of the 1700s, following the story of a teenage girl and her embroilment in the smuggling trade in North Yorkshire.
Author Ruth Estevez has already carved out a successful career as a screenwriter for the BBC, but turning her hand to more literary pursuits, historical research and a passion for writing has led her to the publication of her first young adult novel.
"I'm thrilled about the upcoming launch of our second publication, Jiddy Vardy. Ruth is an extremely talented writer, with a unique style."
Elaine Bousfield, MD
The Jiddy Vardy launch will be supported by a full marketing campaign including national newspaper reviews and literary festivals. A special book launch event will take place on the 21st of June 2018 at Manchester’s hidden gem, the atmospheric Portico Library.
Specialising in fiction for children and young adults, this will be ZunTold’s first young adult offering.
Founder and managing director Elaine Bousfield commented: ‘I’m thrilled about the upcoming launch of our second publication, Jiddy Vardy. Ruth is an extremely talented writer, with a unique style that we know is going to be a huge success in the young adult market. Here at ZunTold we’re passionate about diverse voices – and Jiddy’s is one-of-a-kind.’
